Shopify Merchants tend not use email in their marketing. They have lists with hundreds or thousands of emails. A Shopify Merchant might not have time to create a weekly email. However, automated emails can be an alternative to create more opportunities for generating revenue.
Install Apps
To get started with email automation, a Shopify Merchant needs 2 apps. Email Messaging and Flows. The messaging app is for creating messages. Promotional emails and SMS messages can get sent through the messaging app.
The Flow app manages the automation. In the app, a Shopify Merchant can set when an automation gets sent.
Create Automation
In the “Create Automation” tab, Shopify Merchants can choose the automations to set. For example, a Merchant can create a welcome email, a thank-you email, or an abandoned cart email.
Edit
Once a Merchant has selected their template, they can edit it.
Merchants can change the subject line, the design, and the content of the email. Dynamic content can get added to the email. For example, if visitors abandon their cart, the items they left in their cart can get shown.
Change Workflow

If a Merchant wants, they can change the workflow settings. They can when the email gets sent. Or add criteria to the email. For example, a Merchant can add that the email only gets sent to customers who have spent $100 on the store.
A merchant can provide other options within the workflow. If a customer does not meet the criteria of “Having spent $100 before,” then they can receive a different email.
Conclusion
Automations are simple enough to create that every Shopify store should use them. Not having automation is throwing away money.
